Medical services were disrupted in Panipat and Sonepat government hospitals on Monday as doctors under the banner of the Haryana Civil Medical Services (HCMS) Association began a two-day strike. Patients across both districts faced significant difficulties as routine and emergency healthcare operations came to a halt.

In Panipat, 108 of the total 114 government doctors, including specialists, joined the strike. As a result, all major services were largely non-functional across the District Civil Hospital, Samalkha Civil Hospital, seven community health centres and fourteen primary health centres.

HCMS district president Dr Rinku Sangwan stated that approximately 30 normal deliveries, caesarean sections and planned surgeries conducted daily at the Civil Hospital had all been halted.

A similar situation unfolded in Sonepat, where 134 doctors joined the strike. However, Health Department officials claimed services remained largely unaffected.
