Meeting held to discuss preparations for Swachh Survey in Yamunanagar

Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad held a meeting with officials of the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), and team members of the Swachh Bharat Mission regarding preparations for the Swachh Survey 2025.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the current status of sanitation in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri and to further strengthen preparations in accordance with the Swachh Survey 2025 criteria.

During the meeting, the Swachh Bharat Mission and Project Management Unit team gave a detailed presentation on the city’’’’s profile and preparations made so far.

The presentation highlighted the city’’s current sanitation status, identifying deficiencies in various areas and points requiring improvement. The upcoming action plan was also discussed in detail to ensure that all Swachh Survekshan criteria were met in a timely manner. Various aspects of the Swachh Survekshan, including door-to-door garbage collection, MRF centres, zero-waste wards, city beautification, wonder parks, slum area cleaning, public toilets, sewage treatment plants, RRR centers, C&D waste, wall painting, citizen feedback and awareness programmes were discussed.

Besides, other aspects, including separate vehicles for e-waste collection, honouring Swachhta Champions, action to ban single-use plastic, eliminating GVP (global waste points) in open spaces and more points were also discussed in detail.

Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Parsad directed all officials to work on these issues on the ground. He said that achieving a better ranking in the Swachh Survekshan 2025 was the municipal corporation’s priority and that all officials must work responsibly to achieve this target. He placed special emphasis on completing tasks in a timely manner.

The Municipal Commissioner called for more effective city sanitation, waste collection, waste segregation, the condition of public toilets, garbage disposal, awareness activities and field-level monitoring.

He directed officials to ensure that all departments should work in coordination with one another to ensure that no shortcomings were left at any level. He instructed officials to work with complete dedication and commitment, taking effective steps to improve Yamunanagar-Jagadhri’’s Swachh Survekshan 2025 ranking.

He emphasised that the Swachh Survekshan was not just a competition, but a campaign to make the twin cities clean, beautiful, and healthy.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Dheeraj Kumar, Executive Engineer Narender Suhag, Chief Sanitation Inspectors Vinod Beniwal and Harjeet Singh, Swachh Bharat Mission Adviser Lokesh Sen, IEC experts Durgesh, Akash, Aasman, Pankaj and others were present at the meeting.
