Municipal Corporation team issues challans to seven vendors in Yamunanagar
The team first raided shops located on the Railway road and issued challans to fruit vendors for using single use plastic item
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), took a major action against dumping garbage in the open, using single use plastic items and cutting meat in the open. A team of the MCYJ issued challans to seven shopkeepers for violating these rules.
On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Municipal Commissioner Preeti and Additional Municipal Commissioner Dheeraj Kumar, a team of sanitation inspectors including Govind Sharma, Sushil Sharma and Pradeep Dahiya took action against vendors on the Railway road and the Radaur road.
The team first raided shops located on the Railway road and issued challans to fruit vendors for using single use plastic items. Thereafter, the team went to the Radaur road and issued challans to two vendors, who were cutting meat openly near a religious place.
“Two vendors were found cutting meat on temporary carts and stalls on the roadside. This practice is prohibited on the roadside or near religious places,” said sanitary inspector Govind Sharma.
On the same road, the team also issued challans to two vendors for openly littering and another one for using banned polythene carry bags. The vendors had dumped garbage in the open in front of their shops. The MCYJ team advised vendors to use dustbins and avoid littering in the open.
“Vendors were also warned that if they are found littering in the open again, they will face strict action, including fine and confiscation of their goods,” said Govind Sharma.
Additional Municipal Commissioner (AMC) Dheeraj Kumar appealed to residents to cooperate in keeping Yamunanagar and Jagadhri clean and avoid littering in the open, so that the twin cities could be made clean and beautiful.
“Keeping twin cities clean and safe is the priority of the Municipal Corporation. Strict action will be taken against those who litter in the open. Shopkeepers and vendors will have to follow rules. If anyone is found littering in public places in the future, more stringent action will be taken against them,” said Dheeraj Kumar.
