The police have arrested four drug peddlers and seized ganja worth Rs 8 lakh from them.
Umar Mohammed, crime branch in-charge here, said a team present at the Chandhut village crossing last night intercepted three persons identified as Vikas, Shivam and Shailender, who were on a motorcycle near the Rahimpur bridge area.
Though the accused attempted to flee from the spot as soon as they were asked to stop, they were nabbed by the police soon after.
Two bags containing ganja and the motorcycle was seized from the spot. The bags contained around 26.88 kg of ganja.
As the accused told the police that they had procured ganja from Tappal village of Aligarh district, the police managed to nab one Vinod, a village resident.
An official said the police would take the accused on remand to further interrogate the links and connection of the accused in this regard. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered.
