Cow vigilante Monu Manesar has been granted bail by the Rajasthan High Court in the Nasir-Junaid murder case.

In February 2023, the charred remains of Nasir (25) and Junaid (35) — residents of Bharatpur — were discovered in a burnt SUV in Bhiwani.

A group of cow vigilantes allegedly abducted, assaulted and killed the duo on suspicion of cow smuggling. Manesar is accused of conspiracy and abetting the crime, though he was not physically present at the scene of the murder.

He was arrested after the Nuh riots in 2023 and has been lodged in the Rajasthan jail ever since.
