New educational institutions told to wrap up survey registration

Thought-provoking Opinions, Expert Analysis, In-depth Insights and other Member Only BenefitsThe Directorate General of Higher Education has directed all newly established and unregistered educational institutions to register on the All India Survey on Higher Education portal, stating that obtaining a survey code has become mandatory for institutions seeking accreditation, scholarship benefits and participation in the national higher education survey.
In a communication issued on Monday, the Directorate asked various departments, universities and educational bodies to ensure that institutions under their jurisdiction complete the registration process within the stipulated period. The directive has been sent to the Directors of technical education, nursing, ayurveda, agriculture, animal husbandry and teacher education institutions, besides Registrars of universities and the Department of Medical Education and Research.
The Ministry of Education has opened the registration window for fresh enrolment on the portal for 2025-26 and 2026-27 survey years. “An All India Survey on Higher Education code has become a requirement for institutions seeking National Assessment and Accreditation Council accreditation, availing scholarship-related benefits and participating in the annual survey conducted by the Government of India,” said an official.
