The Thought Lab, of National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, recently hosted a Mahashivratri celebration in the campus’s Jubilee Hall. Director Prof BV Ramana Reddy and Dean of Student Welfare Prof Pratibha Aggarwal attended the event.
As per NIT’s in-charge (Public Relations), the celebration featured a blend of devotional and cultural presentations. A dramatic skit based on the divine narrative of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha set a devotional tone for the evening. This was followed by a spiritual discourse from guest speaker Brahma Kumari Saroj of the Brahma Kumaris organisation.
She shared reflections on inner awareness and the sacred significance of Mahashivratri. The audience was then shown a short video on Lord Shiva’s symbolism, providing a visual tribute to the deity. To reinforce the evening’s themes, a guided meditation session was conducted.
Lyrical poetry on the subject of devotion was recited by students and expressive dance, choreographed to convey devotion, were performed by institute artists. The cultural showcase emphasized spiritual values through art, music and dance.
The in-charge Public Relations said the Mahashivratri celebration at NIT-Kurukshetra combined spiritual reflection with cultural expression, reinforcing the festival’s message of self-discipline, positive thinking and inner awakening among the campus community.
