Even though the BJP government has claimed to have given a major development push to Nuh in Budget 2026–27, the local Congress MLA has called it "insufficient". A day after CM Nayab Singh Saini presented the Budget, Congress MLA and former minister Aftab Ahmed said the government had yet again forgotten that the district was "aspirational", and had failed to offer what it actually needed.
According to the Budget, Nuh has figured prominently in the state’s Rs 14,007.29 crore health sector allocation. The government has announced the construction of a 100-bed hospital in Nuh, along with a seven-storey Community Health Centre (CHC) to strengthen secondary healthcare services in the region.
In a move to improve grassroots healthcare access, two Primary Health Centres (PHCs) at Ghasera and Nagina will be upgraded to CHCs. Additionally, five PHCs will be established at Sakras, Chandeni, Shahchokha, Luhinga Kalan and Tie villages.
Specialised healthcare services will also see enhancement with the establishment of a Special Newborn Care Unit at Taoru.
Expansion and construction at the Mandi Khera District Hospital will be fast-tracked to address the growing patient load. “Healthcare is the need of the hour in Nuh. It was communicated to us by residents during a pre-Budget meet,” said state Health Minister Arti Rao.
Meanwhile, to strengthen law enforcement infrastructure, a new Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) camp will be set up over 107 acres at Sangel village. The district will also get a modern Driving Training and Research Institute at Chhapera, spread across 10 acres, with an investment of Rs 32.63 crore.
As part of a Rs 25.58-crore regional development package, the foundation has been laid for a district library-cum-excellence centre, along with plans to establish 10 village libraries to promote education and competitive exam preparation among youth.
Under the Mewat Development Agency (MDA), approved outlays include funding for nutritional supplements, establishment of cattle shelters, and subsidies for Scheduled Caste youth to set up goat and sheep rearing units.
Additionally, funds have been earmarked for the restoration of a heritage tomb complex in the district, reflecting the government’s focus on preserving local history alongside development.
'Mewat left high and dry'
“We are among the most backward districts in the country. There is no mention of a university that the district has been seeking for a decade. Where is the budget for the Mewat canal feeder channel, whose foundation stone was laid by former CM Manohar Lal Khattar twice? The channel is needed to meet the drinking and irrigation requirements of lakhs of residents. Mewat has been left high and dry.” — Aftab Ahmed, Congress MLA
