Gurugram, July 8
The Nuh police have nabbed Salaheri resident Irshad Pradhan, who had on camera allegedly offered Rs 2 crore to anyone who would chop off the tongue of now-suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for her “controversial” remark against Prophet Mohammad.
"He has been arrested and we are interrogating him. We will take him on police remand for questioning after producing him in court by tomorrow,” said Varun Singla, SP, Nuh.
The police had booked Pradhan for allegedly hurting religious sentiments after a video of his remarks went viral. The video on social media showed him speaking to a YouTuber, offering the reward on behalf of entire Mewat.
"On behalf of entire Mewat, I am giving an offer that if anyone chops off Nupur Sharma's tongue, Rs 2 crore will be given. I and entire Mewat will give the money. You chop her tongue off and you can take Rs 2 crore," he had told the YouTuber.
Later, he also uploaded the video on his Facebook page. The police said that they are conducting raids to nab other suspects.
