Girl students staged a sit-in at Khushi College of Nursing in Kagsar village of Hansi district to demand action in an alleged harassment case.

Their demands include the arrest of a senior official of the college and migration of students to other recognised nursing colleges. They said despite taking their complaints to the highest levels of the state government, no concrete action had been taken, and the college management was ignoring their grievances.

Claiming that they had already met CM Nayab Singh Saini, Health Minister Aarti Rao, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda and Chairperson of the Women’s Commission, Renu Bhatia, they issued a 72-hour ultimatum, warning that if their demands were not met, they would lock the college, and stage a protest at the CM's residence in Chandigarh.

They also raised serious questions over the functioning of the college, claiming that nearly 300 students were being taught by only two teachers, which was affecting the academic standards.
