The meeting was chaired by Commissioner and Secretary, Housing for All Department and Public Health Engineering Department, Mohammad Shayin. Officers of the district administration and representatives from agencies involved in wheat procurement were present at the meeting.
Mohammad Shayin said the Haryana Government had begun wheat procurement in the state on April 1. He directed officials of the departments concerned to ensure that basic facilities were provided in all grain markets so that farmers did not face any difficulty in selling their produce.
“No officer or employee should be negligent in wheat procurement operations, and the gate passes for selling crops in the grain markets during the rabi season should be issued only after biometric verification by entering details on the ‘Meri Fasal-Mera Byora’ portal,” said Mohammad Shayin.
He added that farmers should bring their produce within the stipulated time, as gate passes would be issued between 6 am and 8 pm. He further said that a front number plate on the tractor was mandatory.
He said checkpoints should be established on the borders of neighbouring states to prevent wheat supply from other states. He added that officers from the Excise and Taxation Department and the Irrigation Department should be deployed to monitor the checkpoints in shifts for 24-hour monitoring.
“All officers and employees involved in the wheat procurement work will not leave the station without the Deputy Commissioner’s permission,” said Shayin.
DC Preeti directed officials to ensure proper cleanliness and repair of weighing machines in all grain markets before the beginning of wheat procurement operations. She also asked the officers to ensure proper arrangements for basic amenities in grain markets during the procurement season, including electricity, drinking water, toilets, food, accommodation, CCTV cameras, weather monitoring machines and good roads, so that farmers did not face any inconvenience.
