Hisar, April 9
The Sirsa police arrested a youth Pradeep for allegedly demanding ransom from Honeypreet, who is the vice patron of Dera Sacha Sauda and adopted daughter of dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
Honeypreet had lodged a complaint that a caller had demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh from her on WhatsApp. The police, after investigation, arrested the accused, identified as Pradeep.
The Sirsa police claimed that Pradeep had asked for ransom by calling himself a henchman of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
ASP Sirsa Deepti Garg said Honeypreet had given a complaint that she had received a call on her mobile on April 5.
