The police claim to have busted a network of online casino gambling in the city with the arrest of five persons.

A spokesperson of the Police Department said Dheeraj, Alok, Arun, Santu and Chandresh, all city residents, were nabbed from a house in the NIT area during raid here after receiving a tip-off on Friday.

He said the accused were caught playing online games at the house on an app named, ‘PCM Client’, operated by Dheeraj.

It has been alleged that while Dheeraj was the mastermind and app operator. He invited four others to play casino at his house.

The main accused was charging five per cent commission in case a client won and 20 per cent of the amount if he lost, it is claimed.

Three laptops, two desktop computers and Rs 67,500 in cash was also recovered from the house of the accused.
