Panipat district recorded a seven per cent decline in loot and snatching incidents and a 12 per cent decline in theft cases in 2025. During the year, police also arrested 11 most-wanted criminals and busted 20 gangs involved in theft, loot, snatching and vehicle theft, arresting a total of 80 accused.
The police solved 220 cases during the year and recovered cash and stolen goods worth Rs 44.35 lakh. Superintendent of Police Bhupender Singh said crime and criminals would not be allowed to thrive in the district under any circumstances.
The SP said a seven per cent reduction in loot and snatching cases was recorded in 2025 compared to 2024. A total of 1,339 loot and snatching incidents were registered in 2024, while 1,248 cases were reported in 2025. Of these, the police solved 67 loot cases and 77 snatching cases.
Similarly, theft cases declined by 12 per cent, while vehicle theft cases saw a six per cent reduction in 2025. A total of 833 vehicle theft cases were reported in 2024, compared to 786 cases in 2025.
Apart from this, the police arrested 11 most-wanted criminals, 85 proclaimed offenders and 201 bail jumpers during 2025.
The SP further said that the district police arrested 87 accused under the Arms Act and recovered 62 illegal pistols, 24 live cartridges and two magazines from their possession. A total of 63 cases were registered under the Act in 2025.
Reiterating his stand, SP Singh warned that crime and criminals would not be allowed to flourish in any form in the district.
