SDVM City School, Panipat, celebrated its annual function with great splendour and enthusiasm on Friday evening on the school premises. Around 500 students showcased their skills through diverse cultural performances. The campus was filled with vibrant colours and positive energy.
Roshan Lal Mittal, patron of the SD Education Society, attended as the chief guest, while Rajesh Goyal, Prant Prachar Pramukh, RSS, was the special guest. The guests were welcomed by president Anoop Garg, secretary Naresh Kumar Goyal, vice-chairman Abhay Singla, Auditor Krishna Agarwal, secretary Ishwar Garg and principal Dr Anu Gupta
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Chief guest Roshan Lal Mittal congratulated the students for their outstanding performances, remarking that the programme reflected their limitless potential and dedication. “Children are the priceless heritage of our nation. Nurturing their talents and guiding them forward is our responsibility, for it is their abilities that lead the nation towards progress,” he said.
Special guest Rajesh Goyal praised the students’ talent, discipline, and deep connection to Indian culture and values. He said such platforms enhanced confidence, leadership and character building. He also appreciated the school’s efforts towards environmental conservation.
Anoop Garg lauded the school community, attributing the students’ achievements to the hard work of teachers and the support of parents.
The function opened with a devotional Ganesh Vandana, followed by graceful classical dance presentations and a powerful depiction of Shiv Halahal. Energetic Rajasthani fusion, lively Punjabi folk dance and an engaging “Bollywood through the decades” performance by junior students delighted the audience. The soulful orchestra and singing segment also struck a chord with those present.
Several distinguished guests, including Pawan Garg, Satish Chandra, chairman SDVM HUDA, Dinesh Kumar, Tulsi Singla, Umesh Kumar Agarwal, Pramod Bansal and Akash Garg, graced the occasion.
In the end, vice-chairman Abhay Singla expressed heartfelt gratitude to all guests, parents, teachers and media representatives.
