Gurugram: Satellite town of Manesar was left shocked when an HSIIDC patwari was shot dead and his driver critically injured when they went to survey land in Manesar on Monday. The patwari, identified as 55-year-old Ishwar Singh, and his driver Birender were attacked by unidentified assailants during an argument with local villagers at the survey site. The duo had gone to survey over 900 acres in Manesar village, allotted by court to the HSIIDC recently. The land was bought by builders, after which local villagers  went to court. The court ruled in favour of the government and land was allotted to the HSIIDC. When Ishwar reached the spot, villagers gathered around him and started arguing with him. Bullets were fired, one of which pierced Ishwar’s chest and another hit Birender on the hand. TNS
