Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh has said this Assembly poll is not an ordinary one but that of honour and respect of the sourthern Haryana.

"A conspiracy was hatched to weaken our political power through delimitation, but our unity has gained the power to form and remove governments. Before 2014, most of the MLAs in southern Haryana were from the Congress, but your unity has thrown the Congress out of power,” said Rao. He was addressing poll meetings in Dongra Ahir, Bochdia and Kanina here on Monday to appeal to voters to ensure his daughter Arti Rao's victory from Ateli.

He said if the Congress won the elections, the centre of power would only be Rohtak, but if Arti and the BJP won, the power would remain in the hands of the people of this region.

“During the BJP’s regime, adequate arrangements for canal water were made for the farmers of southern Haryana. It led to rise in the water table, otherwise there was a time when the tubewells here had become useless and the farmers had even got their electricity connections snapped. Moreover, during our regime, jobs were given on the basis of merit, and the unemployed youth of rural areas got jobs,” said Rao.

Besides, former minister and BJP veteran leader Rambilas Sharma said Arti’s victory would usher in a new era of development in the area. Party candidate Arti said she had entered the electoral battle to serve the people and ensure the overall development of the area.
