PNB's loan waiver camp for farmers held at Chhachhrauli
100 farmers benefit from one-time settlement scheme
Punjab National Bank (PNB) organised a loan waiver camp at Chhachhrauli town for farmers.
In this loan waiver camp, agricultural loans of 100 farmers from the branches of Bilaspur, Sadhaura, Devdhar, Jagadhri and Chhachhrauli were settled under the one-time settlement scheme.
The camp was attended by Lalit Taneja, Zonal Manager of PNB, Chandigarh, as the chief guest. Trimurti Shiv Pandey, Circle Head of PNB, Karnal, was also present in the programme.
Addressing the gathering, chief guest Lalit Taneja said PNB was running a loan waiver scheme to resolve old and pending agricultural loans of farmers by understanding their financial difficulties.
He said under this scheme, farmers who were unable to repay their loans on time due to unavoidable reasons were being provided one-time settlement (OTS) facilities with maximum possible interest concessions, enabling them to become debt-free.
He further said that the main objective of such camps was to provide financial relief to farmers, strengthen mutual trust between the bank and farmers and reconnect them with the mainstream banking system.
During the camp, farmers were given detailed information about the scheme and their issues were resolved on the spot.
On this occasion, senior bank officials, branch managers and a large number of farmers were present.
Rajat Sharma, AGM from Karnal circle office and Jagdish Chand from zonal office, Chandigarh, actively participated in the settlement process.
Pawan Kumar, Chhachhrauli branch manager, thanked all the farmers and dignitaries for their participation and cooperation.
