Palwal, July 8

The Crime branch of the local police has arrested a proclaimed offender (PO), who was carrying a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head.

A police official said the accused was identified as Inaam, who hails from Sampanki village of Hathin subdivision. He had been absconding for the past three years and was wanted in cases of theft, breaking open ATM and breaking in into a house that took place in 2021 in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh). Since he had managed to escape and had been absconding, the MP police had announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for his arrest.

The official said the police managed to arrest the accused from a hideout on Saturday night on the basis of inputs from the sources. The accused was handed over to the MP Police after he was produced in a court on Monday.

The police have arrested a total of 26 criminals carrying rewards on their heads in the past six months, claimed department spokesperson Sanjay Kumar.
