The Haryana Power Engineers Association calls for the reinstatement of a suspended officer and demands fair disciplinary processes to avoid escalating unrest.

The Haryana Power Engineers Association (HPEA) has announced plans for a zonal-level gate meeting to protest against the suspension of an officer and the issuance of unwarranted show-cause notices to other employees.

The association expressed dissatisfaction with the suspension of Engineer Vicky, SDO in Sonepat and is demanding his reinstatement. According to the Haryana Power Engineers Association sgeneral secretary, Ravinder Ghanghas, the suspension was unjustified and has caused widespread discontent among the workforce.

Ghanghas criticised the issuance of show-cause notices to several officers without any clear evidence of wrongdoing, which he believes has fostered mistrust within the organisation. “Such actions, taken without valid grounds, have raised concerns over fairness and transparency in decision-making across power utilities, including Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and Haryana Vidhyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN),” he said.

The Haryana Power Engineers Association has outlined four key demands to address these concerns: the immediate reinstatement of Engineer Vicky, withdrawal of unjustified show cause notices, ensuring disciplinary actions are based on evidence and due process and promoting greater transparency and open communication within the organisation.

In a letter to management, Ghanghas stressed the importance of resolving these problems to maintain employee morale and ensure a harmonious working environment. He urged authorities to take corrective action to prevent further escalation.

The engineers have expressed strong opposition to what they describe as arbitrary disciplinary measures. The Haryana Power Engineers Association remains hopeful dialogue and mutual understanding will help resolve the matter amicably.
