Priest found dead in temple

YAMUNANAGAR:A temple priest was found dead in Nagava Jagir village of Yamunanagar district on Thursday night.

Yamunanagar, July 20

A temple priest was found dead in Nagava Jagir village of Yamunanagar district on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Rajpal Singh (60). Karam Singh, in his complaint to the police, said that his father had been serving as a priest of the Goga Mari temple for the last 30 years.

Karam Singh said that his father (Rajpal) used to sleep in the temple room. However, on Thursday night, he slept in the open. His body was found in a pool of blood Friday morning.  

There were several injury marks on the body of his father, he added.

The police have registered a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against unknown persons.
