Speaking to mediapersons, Dahiya, said, “All arrangements regarding lifting, storage and gunny bags have been reviewed at the meeting. The arrivals are yet to begin and to help the farmers, help desks have been set up at the grain markets. The officials have been instructed to ensure a smooth procurement process. Appeals have been made to the farmers to ensure that they register the names of three nominees on the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” portal, so they don’t face any problems in selling their produce. The procurement agencies have been told to ensure timely lifting of the produce from the grain markets.”

Meanwhile, Tomer said there were 15 grain markets in Ambala district and all these had been geo-fenced. All farmers were requested to have number plates on their tractor-trailers. If the number plates were not installed, they should have the number written on the vehicle using paint or plain paper to ensure they faced no issues in the grain market.

District Food and Supply Controller Nishant Rathi stated that 42 biometric machines would be operational for the 15 grain markets in the district, of which five would be operational at the Ambala City grain market. For the convenience of the farmers, a help desk will be set up.
