A protest against Faridabad MP Krishan Pal Gurjar marked the BJP’s first Vijay Sankalp Yatra meeting held near Prithla village of the district on Sunday.

Gurjar and senior party leader Kalraj Mishra, who has been appointed in-charge of the Lok Sabha poll campaign in Haryana, were present in the meeting. About 35 protesters, claiming to be BJP workers, raised slogans against Gurjar, demanding that he should not be fielded again from Faridabad. They alleged poor development in their areas. The Lok Sabha poll in the state is scheduled for May 12.

Mishra said, “There is no room for indiscipline in the party. Those creating problems must leave the party.”

Gurjar did not address the meeting. He, however, alleged that supporters of a ticket aspirant created ruckus, but failed to derail the objective behind the yatra. On his candidature, he said the BJP’s Central Election Committee would take the call. Mishra, meanwhile, claimed the BJP would win all 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

On the “achievements” of the Narendra Modi government, Mishra, a former Union Minister, said the Centre handled the Pulwama terror attack in an efficient and diligent manner.

He hit out at the Oppositionfor trying to bring down the morale of the defence forces by raising irrelevant questions over the airstrike inside Pakistan. “Vijay Sankalp Yatra will infuse BJP workers and supporters with renewed energy so that the party comes out stronger at the booth level,” the BJP leader added.

Congress a sinking ship, says Barala

Karnal: State BJP president Subhash Barala said on Sunday that the BJP would win all 10 seats in Haryana.

“The Congress is a sinking ship and the BJP has become a party of the general public. We will win all 10 seats in the state and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will get another term,” he said while interacting with mediapersons. He was here to participate in a programme organised by the Jain community. Later, he started BJP campaign ‘EkPostNamoKNaam’ and said the country was safe in the hands of PM Modi. “The Congress president Rahul Gandhi has no vision for the security of the country,” he said. Without naming Rahul Gandhi or any party, he said some of the opposition leaders were raising questions over the IAF strike and discouraging the Indian forces. On being asked about the finalisation of the tickets, he said the state body had finalised the names of the panel of candidates and had sent it to the Central leadership. “It will decide the names of the candidates,” he said. On the proposed bus tour of the Congress, he said the Congress would get the same result it got in the Jind bypoll.

Party panel to take call on ticket: MP

Faridabad MP Krishan Pal Gurjar did not address the meeting. He, however, alleged that supporters of a ticket aspirant created ruckus, but failed to derail the objective behind the yatra. On his candidature, Gurjar said the BJP’s Central Election Committee would take the call.
