Pvt schools seek relief to pay staff

The Federation of Private Schools’ Welfare Association of Haryana has sought a relief package for the salaries of employees of private schools in the state.

In a letter to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the federation has claimed that about 20,000 private schools are functioning in Haryana on ‘no profit no loss basis’ and at this hour of crisis, no fees are being deposited in schools.

Kulbhushan Sharma, federation president, said: “More than 95 per cent private schools are low-fee schools and the staff in these schools, both teaching and non-teaching, draw a salary in the range of Rs9,500 to Rs15,000 a month. The federation has requested that a relief package for the private schools must be announced.” — TNS
