Rahul Gandhi to address Cong training camp in Kurukshetra today

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address newly appointed district Congress committee presidents of Haryana and Uttarakhand during his visit to Kurukshetra on Wednesday.

The Congress is organising a 10-day ‘Sangathan Srijan’ organisational training camp for district presidents of the two states. Nearly 60 district presidents from Haryana and Uttarakhand have been attending the camp since January 13 at the Punjabi Dharamshala near the historic Brahma Sarovar.

According to party leaders, Rahul Gandhi will spend nearly five-and-a-half hours in Kurukshetra, during which he will share his ideas with the newly appointed district presidents, discuss key political issues, and also meet their family members.

Thanesar MLA Ashok Arora said, “Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will reach Kurukshetra to address the district presidents of Haryana and Uttarakhand on Wednesday, and he will share his ideas with them. Rahul Gandhi will discuss important issues with the district presidents. All senior leaders from Haryana will also be present on this occasion and all arrangements are in place for Rahul Gandhi’s visit.”

Congress MP and Uttarakhand incharge Kumari Selja arrived at the Punjabi Dharamshala to review arrangements for the visit. She held meetings with party leaders and district presidents and also addressed the trainees.

“Rahul Gandhi will discuss the current situation the country is facing and share his experience and ideas with the newly appointed district presidents. The trainees are being apprised about the policies and ideology of the party,” Selja said.

She added, “His visit will give a boost to the party workers at the ground level and help further in strengthening the party’s base.”

Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala also reached the training camp on Tuesday and addressed party leaders and trainees.

Speaking to mediapersons, Surjewala said, “A 10-day training camp is being organised by the AICC to apprise the district presidents about the current political and social perspectives, issues in states, problems being faced by public, the party’s stand on different issues, and various other issues in the country.”

“We are confident that under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi, the party’s organisational structure will be further strengthened, and the district presidents will get more strength,” he added.
