The train traffic will be affected on the Delhi Ambala section for nearly seven days due to the power block to be taken by the Northern Railway at Shahabad and Mohri stations.

As per the Northern Railway, the Railway Board has approved power and traffic blocks at the Shahabad Markanda railway station and Mohri station in connection with the extension of loop lines and new electronic interlocking (EI) panel and Shahabad Markanda and Mohri stations on the Delhi-Ambala section over Delhi Division.

The block will be taken from May 31 to June 6. While 22 trains will remain cancelled, three short terminated, 29 diverted, eight rescheduled and 20 trains will be regulated during the block.

While from May 30/31 to June 5, pre-non-interlocking will be done and on June 6 non-interlocking (commissioning) will be done.As a repercussion, 90 trips of 22 trains, including Delhi-Daulatpur Chowk Express (14053), Raipur Haryana-Amb Andaura MEMU (64563), Ambala-Kurukshetra MEMU (64482), Ambala-Panipat MEMU (64532), New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (04081), Ajmer-Chandigarh (12983), and Chandigarh-Ajmer (12984) will remain cancelled.

Similarly, Chandigarh- New Delhi Shatabdi Express (12046), New Delhi-Chandigarh Shatabdi Express (12045), Amritsar-Delhi Express (14680), and Delhi-Amritsar Express (14679) will remain cancelled on June 6.

As per the railway, eight trips of three trains, including Fazilka-Delhi express (14508), Delhi-Fazilka express (14507) and Panipat-Ambala MEMU (64481) will be short-terminated. Meanwhile, 29 trains, including Howrah-Kalka Netaji Express (12311), Tatanagar-Jammu Tawi Express (18101), Ajmer-Jammu Tawi Express (12413), Pune-Jammu Tawi Express (11077), Agra- Cantonment-Hoshiarpur (11905), Paschim Express (12925), Jammu Mail (20434), and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Express (12446) will be running through the diverted routes.

Similarly, Chandigarh-Yesvantpur (22686), Chandigarh-Madgaon Junction (12450), Amritsar-Katihar express (15708), Pathankot-Delhi superfast express (22430), and Chandigarh-Prayagraj Sangam (14218) will be running through the diverted routes. Eight other major trains, including Chandigarh-Bandra Terminus Express (22452), New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express (22477), Delhi-Amritsar Vande Bharat Express (22487), Amb Andaura-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express (22448), and Amritsar-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (11058) will be rescheduled. Similarly, 61 trips of 20 trains, including Katihar-Amritsar express (15707), Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Amritsar (11057), New Delhi-Amb Andaura Vande Bharat Express (22447), Kalka-New Delhi Shatabdi (12006), and Kalka-Bhiwani express (14796) will be regulated.
