Ram Temple bhajan fame singer to join Congress soon
Popular bhajan singer Kanhiya Mittal — believed to be a BJP follower — has announced that he would join the Congress soon.
Mittal had hit the headlines ahead of the Ram Temple mega event, having sung the famous bhajan ‘Jo Ram ko laye hain, hum unko layenge’. As he announced his plans to join the Congress, reports went viral of yet another BJP member moving away and Mittal had to release a video saying that he was never a BJP member or ticket aspirant but a Sanatani which he would continue even after joining the Congress.
“I was never a BJP member or leader. I am Sanatani and want to serve Sanatan. It is possible to serve Sanatan Dharm from anywhere. A friend of mine called me in the morning today and I told him about my wish to join the Congress. I don’t want any particular party to talk about Sanatan. I want every party to do that. There’s no clash between me and the BJP,” said Mittal.
Mittal hails from Panchkula and political corridors were rife over his reported unhappiness with the party for re-fielding Gian Chand Gupta.
Mittal is the second singer who has disassociated himself from the BJP and is moving to the Congress. Prior to him, Haryanvi singer-composer Jai Bhagwan Mittal, alias Rocky Mittal, too resigned and joined the Congress.
Mittal, who was known for singing praises of Modi, Khattar and even Yogi Adityanath for almost 14 years, said he was ignored by the party despite his selfless work. False cases were registered against him in the past four years, he said. After joining the Congress, Mittal sang his newly composed song: ‘Mujhe maaf karna Rahul mere bhai, hai nafrat failai humne, tune mitaai Rahul mere bhai’, a video of which was shared by Surjewala on social media. People are now waiting for Kanhiya Mittal too to come up with a similar song.
