Haryana Cabinet Minister Shyam Singh Rana on Tuesday described Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s recently presented Budget as a “landmark, people-centric document” that would accelerate development across sectors and align with Haryana’s vision of becoming a trillion-dollar economy by 2047.

Addressing a press conference organised by the BJP district unit at the Yamuna Kamal office, Rana, along with party leaders, termed the Rs 2.23 lakh crore Budget historic and focused on the welfare of farmers, youth, women and labourers.

A major highlight flagged by the minister was the proposed four-laning of the highway from Kaithal to Yamunanagar via Dhand, Pipli and Radaur. “This infrastructure initiative aims to significantly improve connectivity, linking key national highways and boosting economic activity in the region,” said Rana.

He praised the strong agricultural thrust in the Budget, including the creation of an Agri Discom to ensure dedicated power supply to farmers, promotion of natural and organic farming, and establishment of rural haat mandis to enable direct market access.

The minister also highlighted incentives announced for farmers, including an annual subsidy of Rs 10,000 per acre for certified export-oriented farmers for five years, an increase in incentives for desi cotton to Rs 4,000 per acre, and an additional Rs 2,000 per acre bonus for farmers shifting from paddy cultivation to pulses, oilseeds and cotton.

“Youth-focused initiatives include training one lakh young people in Artificial Intelligence with subsequent job placements. Women’s welfare gains from 20% reservation for women’s groups in Vita booths and the ‘Har Nari, Swasth Nari’ scheme establishing clinics in every district,” said Rana.

He further announced that the Budget provides for a Rs 30 crore Haryana Animal Veterinary Epidemiology Centre in Hisar and a Rs 500 crore special fund for infrastructure upgrades in older industrial areas, including Yamunanagar.

Focusing on district-specific projects, Rana said Yamunanagar would get a synthetic sports track, a new sports stadium and an AYUSH centre to strengthen sports and healthcare facilities.

Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora and BJP state spokesperson Vidhu Rawal also addressed the media, describing the Budget as inclusive and crediting Chief Minister Saini for incorporating public suggestions gathered prior to its presentation.

Among those present were former Mayor Madan Chauhan, Zila Parishad chairman Ramesh Chand Thaska, BJP district media incharge Kapil Manish Garg and other party leaders, who echoed the minister’s praise for what they termed a development-oriented and forward-looking Budget.
