Red Cross trains conductors on first aid

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner and District Red Cross Society president Shantanu Sharma the Red Cross Society organised a training session for conductors. The session covered topics like drug prevention, clean environment practices, traffic rules and encouraged participants to become lifetime members and volunteers of the Red Cross.

District Red Cross secretary Lal Bahadur Bainiwal highlighted that drug abuse is weakening society, especially impacting the youth. He emphasised the need to act against this growing problem, as drug abuse also leads to increased road accidents.

Assistant secretary Gurmeet Singh Saini advised trainees to reduce fireworks usage this Diwali to keep the environment clean and avoid stubble burning to protect soil health. He led a pledge encouraging participants to stay drug-free, help others quit and commit to environmental protection by minimising fireworks.

The session concluded with a call for trainees to join the Red Cross as lifetime members, follow traffic rules, and actively contribute to community welfare.
