Ambala, June 24

The Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Ambala, on Friday handed over a 15-year-old minor Nepalese girl, who was trafficked to Ambala by a 23-year-old Nepali youth forcefully, to her father in Ambala City. The accused was identified as Dinesh Mandal of Nepal.

A missing complaint of the minor was registered in Nepal in May this year. After the girl made a call to her parents, the authorities swung into action. Acting on the information, the girl was rescued by a joint team of the CWC, Anti-human trafficking cell, Childline Ambala, and Ambala Sadar police on June 17.

Childline coordinator Ajay said, “There was information from an NGO of Nepal that Dinesh has forcefully brought a girl to Ambala, and the current location is Jalbera village. The girl was rescued, but the accused had already escaped from there. The accused kept her at a poultry farm. “The family of the girl and authorities concerned in Nepal were informed. On Friday, her father along with police personnel and an NGO reached Ambala, and after completing all formalities, the girl was handed over to her family” he added. CWC member Rekha Sharma said, “Action will be taken against the poultry farm owner.” A case has been registered
