Research & innovation take centre stage at AYUSH seminar

Experts call for integration of Ayurveda with modern science

The Vice-Chancellor of Shri Krishna AYUSH University, Prof Vaidya Kartar Singh Dhiman, on Monday called upon students to focus on research, creativity and new ideas.

Prof Dhiman, while speaking at a seminar on the occasion of the National Technology Day, said Ayurveda can become more effective when combined with modern technology, digital innovation and scientific research.

Registrar Dr Krishan Kant Gupta, Principal Prof Ashish Mehta, Director of Research and Innovation Prof Deepti Parashar, and resource persons Dr Ramavatar Sharma from AIIA, Dr Sameer Singh from IIT-Delhi and Dr Rahul Taneja from HSCSIT, attended the event.

Registrar Dr Krishan Kant Gupta said that integrating Ayurveda with modern science and technology is the need of the hour. He emphasised the importance of research, startups and innovation culture among students.

In the first technical session, Dr Rahul Taneja explained copyright, trademark, patent and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). He highlighted the importance of protecting innovations and research work legally.

During the second session, Dr Ramavatar Sharma discussed AYUSH digital platforms such as Namaste Portal, Prakriti Portal, AYUSH Research Portal, M-Yoga App and e-Charak Portal. He also detailed the students on digital health, telemedicine, and integrative medicine.

In the third session, IIT-Delhi expert Dr Sumer Singh discussed product design, innovation and design thinking concepts. He motivated students to develop innovative ideas in the AYUSH sector.
