Ambala, May 9
BKU (Charuni) chief Gurnam Singh Charuni today asked the state to resume wheat procurement for at least two-three days, else they would be forced to intensify their stir.
In a video message, he said, “The government stopped wheat procurement from April 30, while a large number of farmers were yet to sell their crop. Even the crop of the farmers who were issued gate passes was not procured. We demand that the government should purchase the remaining crop, resume procurement for at least two-three days, else the union would be forced to intensify its protest against the government.” — TNS
