Rewari rape victim’s family alleges threats

Facing “social seclusion and threats”, security for the family of the Rewari gangrape victim has been enhanced, with the father approaching Nuh SP Naazneen Bhasin.

“We are being treated as outcasts. Our sympathisers have been asked to stay away. We are told that the accused will soon be released on bail and take revenge,” the victim’s father said.

Rewari SP Rahul Sharma had no information about any such threats. “The family has been given maximum protection.” A villager said their womenfolk had spoken out against the accused and were now under pressure not to help the victim in court. — TNS
