Faridabad: Government Senior Secondary School, Sarai Khwaja, Faridabad, held a programme to create awareness about road safety on Wednesday. Besides painting competition and slogan writing, the 150-odd participants took out a march in sector 37 here emphasising the importance of following traffic rules. Mona Singh, CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA, was the chief guest on the occasion. A large number of accidents take place mainly due to lack of awareness and discipline on the road, the students were told during the function.

Induction programme at CUH

Mahendragarh: Central University of Haryana (CUH) organised induction programme to motivate new students of Engineering and Technology. Speaking on the occasion as an expert, Prof JS Saini from Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal (Sonepat), explained how students could generate new ideas in their mind and achieve the best results by nourishing them. “The programme will motivate students towards education,” said Prof RC Kuhad, Vice-Chancellor.

DAV College students bag top spots  

Ambala: Two students of MA English of DAV College (Lahore), Ambala City, have bagged top positions in Kurukshetra University. Shruti Arya of MA English has secured the first position by securing 74 per cent marks while Vishakha Kapoor has secured the fifth position in the university. Principal Rajesh Sharma congratulated the meritorious students.

Graduates take oath At LUVAS  

Hisar: Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) administered oath to the newly trained graduates of veterinary sciences at an oath-taking ceremony in the university. The batch of 58 students of the 2014-19 session has completed the course. Dr Gurdiyal Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the university, said that veterinary doctors have a big responsibility and should work with dedication.
