Gurugram, September 18
Robbers on Tuesday blew up an ATM in Mewat and fled with Rs2 lakh. The incident happened in the wee hours on Tuesday.
The robbers first sprayed black paint on the CCTV camera in the cabin. After beating up the guard on duty, they held him captive.
They went about planting explosives around the ATM and blew it up. Using a gas cutter, they cut the ATM and fled with Rs2 lakh.
After being informed by the guard, the police found burnt notes inside the ATM. A few seconds of hazy CCTV footage showed two robbers.
“We have got a few seconds of initial footage. The guard has given details on the sequence of events. The ATM had over Rs21 lakh, but they could retrieve only Rs2 lakh,” said a police official. — TNS
