Rohtak Civil Hospital to get Rs 5 crore infra upgrade
Fire safety, ICU renovation, repairs to be completed on priority
The local civil hospital, which caters to a large number of patients every day, is set for an infrastructure upgrade after the state government approved a budget of over Rs 5 crore for the project.
Under the approved plan, Rs 2.15 crore would be spent on installing a modern fire-fighting system, Rs 55 lakh on renovating the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and over Rs 20.48 lakh on replacing faulty VCB equipment. The remaining funds would be used for special repair and maintenance works. Infrastructure upgradation is already underway and is expected to be completed soon.
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta has directed officials to ensure all special repair and beautification works of the hospital building be completed within the stipulated deadline to ensure improved healthcare facilities for patients. He asked officials of the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Health Department to work in close coordination and prepare a priority-wise list of pending works.
Emphasising tasks directly linked to patient care must be taken up first, Gupta stressed that ICU-related works should be completed on priority, describing it as the most critical unit of the hospital.
On Saturday, Gupta inspected the civil hospital and reviewed the progress of ongoing upgradation works. During the inspection, he issued necessary instructions to ensure the timely execution of projects. He also inspected repair works on the hospital rooftop.
In addition, he reviewed the progress of work in private wards, operation theatres, mother and child healthcare units, OPD areas and toilets, and directed officials to improve both the quality and pace of execution.
Speaking to the media, Gupta said the infrastructure of Civil Hospital, Rohtak, was being strengthened on a large scale, with the state government releasing Rs 5 crore for the upgrade. He added that regular inspections were being conducted to monitor pending works, assess timelines and ensure priority-based execution.
“Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has given clear directions that government hospitals should provide modern facilities on par with private hospitals,” Gupta said. He expressed confidence that once the upgradation work is completed, patients visiting the hospital would receive better, safer and more modern healthcare services.
