Residents of Bharat Colony in the city have been facing the issue with the contaminated water supply over last few days. They are getting dirty water supply, forcing them to bring water from other places to meet their daily needs.

Jyoti, a local resident, said the water supplied to the colony was consistently blackish in colour and foul smelling. “Water is not even suitable for basic activities like bathing or washing clothes. We have no choice, but to bring water from other areas for our daily requirements,” she said.

Usha, another resident, pointed out that despite multiple complaints to the authorities concerned, the issue remained unresolved, leading to growing resentment among colony residents.

“The basic responsibility of the administration is to provide clean potable water to residents. We urge the district administration to address this issue promptly and ensure supply of clean water,” said Suresh Ahlawat, another colony resident.
