During the ongoing Haryana Budget session, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini made a pivotal announcement that sent a wave of happiness across the town of Chhachhrauli in Yamunanagar district.
Saini said residents of Chhachhrauli would now be granted ownership rights. The land under khasra numbers 125, 152 and 134 has been under government ownership since 1887. Having built houses in these areas long ago, residents have been living on the ‘Gair Mumkin Aabadi’ (non-cultivable residential) land, the registrations for which continued till 2020. The residents had approached former Cabinet Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar regarding the issue of land ownership. Acknowledging this demand, the state government has now decided to grant land ownership rights to eligible families. After verification of on-site possession through official records and surveys, rightful ownership will be conferred upon long-settled residents.
Kanwar Pal Gujjar said he had recently met CM Saini and highlighted the grievance faced by hundreds of residents in the Jagadhri constituency. He said that due to the old inhabited land being recorded as government land, its inhabitants had faced a lot of problems. “The CM’s announcement comes as a huge relief for hundreds of residents,” said Gujjar.
“The residents of Chhachhrauli have expressed gratitude towards the CM and the state government. Kanwar Pal Gujjar always stands with the people of his constituency and shares their joys and sorrows,” said Kapil Manish Garg, district media incharge, Yamunanagar.
