SDM to ULB officials: Ensure cleaning of drains in Bhiwani

Bhiwani, July 18

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Harbir Singh today directed officials of the departments of Public Health Engineering and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) to ensure regular cleaning of sewers and drains in Bhiwani.

During a meeting held at the DRDA auditorium in the Mini-Secretariat, the SDM directed the officials to expedite the maintenance and cleanliness work of the sewers in the town during the monsoon season. He also directed them to cover the manholes to prevent any accident.

Besides, SP Varun Singla and City Magistrate Vipin Kumar also heard the grievances of residents at the Samadhan Shivir.

The SDM said several areas of the city were waterlogged during the monsoon season. In order to avoid the accumulation of water on roads, the maintenance of the drains should be ensured, he said.

He further directed the officials to ensure that the open manholes were covered on priority.

In addition, the residents of Bhiwani district highlighted their complaints related to errors in their birth certificates and family identity cards, faulty electricity transformer and encroachments on their plots. Twenty four complaints were heard at the Samadhan Shivir today.

Ashok Kumar, a complainant, said the errors in the family ID card were affecting the admission process of his children. Sushila, another resident, demanded the removal of encroachments on his plot.
