With an aim to establish direct contact with party president Rahul Gandhi and central leadership, the state women Congress on Saturday launched ‘Shakti Mahila’ app. Rajya Sabha member Kumari Selja launched the app for the women workers and supporters of the district here.

Selja explained the functioning of the mobile app. With this app, the party workers would be able to communicate directly with the party president and central leadership. “It is a two-way communication wherein women workers could share their views and ideas on the party functioning and provide feedback from the grassroots level. Even, party president Rahul Gandhi can get feedback of any district or booth by calling any worker,” she said.

Lambasting the Central and state governments, Selja said, “Both the governments have failed to check crime against women and also to ensure their safety.”

About alleged gang-rape in Panchkula, she said the Congress would raise the issue in Parliament.
