The Irrigation Department had prepared a major plan comprising seven projects to address the issues pertaining to waterlogging, which has been approved by the state government.

“Here, the Irrigation Department will spend Rs 12 crore to install permanent pipelines and pump houses etc to drain the water into the Mahendragarh Canal and Drain No 8 near Chhuchhakwas,” said officials.

Around 300 acres around Pahrajwas and Palhawas villages gets submerged during the rainy season. Here, a plan has been made to drain the water into the Pataudi distributary by installing a 3 km-long pipeline and pumps, on which Rs 7 crore will be spent.

Similarly, at Khera Rasulpur village, a 1.5-km pipeline will be laid to pump rainwater into the Pataudi distributary, costing Rs 3.5 crore.

In Suma Khera village, a Rs 6 crore pipeline will be laid to drain rainwater into the JLN Canal of Bawal.

In Nain Sukhpura village, a pump house and pipeline will be laid at a cost of Rs 2 crore to discharge water into the JLN Canal.

“These projects, totaling Rs 30.50 crore, will provide a permanent solution to rainwater drainage, providing significant relief to villagers and protecting their kharif season crops from damage,” said Kosli MLA Anil Yadav.

He stated that the farmers suffer huge losses every year due to waterlogging of their fields.

“Last year, during the monsoon season, arrangements were made to drain out water by installing more than 100 pumps and motors, but even these could not fully serve the desired purpose. Hence, I met Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and apprised him of the issue, following which the aforesaid projects have been approved for the Kosli constituency,” the MLA said.
