‘Shoddy’ work: Show-cause notices issued to JEs
Mayor Suman Bahamani has also instructed the MCYJ officials to investigate all works being done by the agency in the colony
The Municipal Corporation of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) has issued show-cause notices to two junior engineers of the civic body for reported deficiencies in pipe-laying work in Sanjay Vihar Colony in Ward 22 of Yamunanagar.
Mayor Suman Bahamani has also instructed the MCYJ officials to investigate all works being done by the agency in the colony.
According to information, the mayor inspected the ongoing street construction and underground pipeline-laying work in Sanjay Vihar Colony. Ordering that work be halted immediately, she directed the officials to issue show-cause notices to two JEs for negligence and non-compliance with standards.
The Mayor said use of substandard materials or negligence in construction work would not be tolerated.
“If any negligence is found, strict action will be taken against the officials and agencies involved,” she warned.
She directed the officials to inspect all technical and quality standards before resuming the construction work.
“The objective of the MC is not merely to get works done, but also to ensure that the quality is maintained,” the mayor said.
