Yet to recover from the shock of shooting of Additional Sessions Judge's wife and son, Millennium City was rattled yet again on Tuesday evening when two masked men opened fired in a busy restaurant in the Sector 46 area.

The firing led to panic and stampede in OM Sweets when the duo fired several rounds near the cash counter as the employees ducked for cover.

One of them was injured by a shard after glass was shattered in the firing. The duo then fled.

Police said the investigation so far have revealed that it was a robbery bid. "The duo entered the restaurant casually before pulling out a gun and firing in air. Prima facie it appears that they did not intend to kill but only scare and rob. We are investigating the matter and details will be out soon," said police PRO Subhash Bokan.

The Gurugram police have announced reward of Rs 5 lakh for anyone sharing information about the persons who opened fire in the restaurant.

Sources, however, claimed that the attack was probably to extort "protection money". It was in December last year that that the Kaushal gang had allegedly choreographed similar shooting in another restaurant - Harish Bakery - demanding protection money.
