Sirsa admn to hold first district grievance committee meeting under Anil Vij

The Sirsa administration is set to convene its first District Grievance Committee meeting under the leadership of Power, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij. The meeting, scheduled for Friday at 12 pm at Panchayat Bhawan, would address 16 complaints, including five unresolved cases from the previous session.

Anil Vij’s appointment as chairman has caused some unease among district officials, who are now working swiftly to prepare for the meeting. Among the key problems to be discussed is a complaint from Kulwant Kaur, a resident of Dhani Aasa Singh village, who has accused the Rania police of negligence. She claims her family is being threatened by individuals associated with her father-in-law’s murder case, pressuring them to withdraw the charges.

Another case involves Sohan Lal from Bani village, who has reported ongoing harassment by a gang. Sohan alleges the group has assaulted his family, used caste-based slurs, issued death threats and even held his family captive. Despite providing evidence to senior police officials, Sohan claims no action has been taken due to alleged police collusion.

The agenda also includes complaints about administrative inefficiencies. Sanjay Kumar from Fatehpur Jotanwali has accused Rori Division officials of mishandling a land dispute and failing to consider key evidence. In a separate case, Sultan, a resident of Ellenabad, alleges the municipal staff illegally transferred ownership of his plot to another person, despite his regular payment of house tax.

Another complaint has been lodged against the Kalanwali branch of HDFC Bank. Sandeep Kumar from Khairekan has accused the bank of disbursing only Rs 4.1 lakh of a promised Rs 10 lakh loan, withholding the remaining amount for over six months.
