Sirsa police arrested 360 wanted criminals between November 5 and 28 under the intensive ‘Operation Track Down’, aimed at curbing offences including murder, robbery, attempted murder, snatching and drug trafficking.
Superintendent of Police Deepak Saharan said that during the 23-day drive, police registered 39 drug-trafficking cases and arrested 110 individuals involved in narcotics. In addition, 250 wanted criminals linked to serious offences such as murder, robbery, attempted murder and snatching were taken into custody. Among them were four high-profile offenders carrying rewards of Rs 5,000 each in murder cases.
Saharan said the police had opened history sheets for 30 individuals involved in serious crimes and placed them under continuous surveillance. The operation also focused on dismantling criminal financial networks. Police have begun documenting properties acquired through illegal drug money; two such assets have already been identified and will soon be seized with the assistance of local authorities.
