SONEPAT: A minor studying in Class XII was reportedly gangraped for two days by her friend’s acquaintance Vikas and other unidentified youths at a room in Sonepat on July 18 and 19.

A minor studying in Class XII was reportedly gangraped for two days by her friend’s acquaintance Vikas and other unidentified youths at a room in Sonepat on July 18 and 19.

A case of gangrape, threat to life and under the POCSO Act was registered against Vikas and others at the local mahila police station.

In her complaint, the victim, resident of a village under the Mohana police station, submitted that she came to Sonepat on July 18 to buy books and medicines.

She reported that after the purchases, she rang up her friend, who sent Vikas to pick her up in a car. She stated that Vikas offered her a laced cold drink in the car, after which she became unconscious.

She reported that he took her to a room where he and his friends gangraped her that night. She further stated that before letting her go, Vikas threatened her with dire consequences if she told her family members about the incident.

The mahila police said the victim’s medical examination was conducted and and her statement recorded before a duty magistrate. A case was registered against Vikas and other accused, they said.
