Sonu Nigam said he supports the #MeToo campaign as many have been harassed in the industry.

Nigam was interacting with mediapersons on Monday evening at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) in Samalkha, where he is shooting his new single.

“Every campaign has positive and negative aspects but in my opinion #MeToo campaign is good. I have spent around 27 years in Bollywood industry and about 41 years in singing and I have seen that many have been harassed,” he stated.

Nigam applauded the richness and prosperity of Haryana state and said he also belonged to the state as he was born in Faridabad. “It is a beautiful state and people here are brave and open-hearted but I am disappointed to see the condition of roads here,” he rued.

His new single is based on college life and it will be a tribute to his friends. He has penned the song while Vibhash Arora has composed it. It has been produced by Suresh Tayal and Rakesh Tayal. The single would release in January and he would dedicate the song to his friends and their friendship, Nigam said.

He said he would meet Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar soon. Nigam appealed to the students to learn all aspects of a matter properly before making an opinion about it.

Earlier, Hariom Tayal, Chairman, PIET, along with members of the management welcomed Nigam on the campus.
