Describing the political significance of south Haryana, Union Minister and Ahir stalwart Rao Inderjit Singh today said the BJP government was formed in the state only due to MLAs of south Haryana in 2014 and 2019. This time too, the BJP will form the government only with the support of south Haryana, he said.
Rao, accompanied by BJP veteran leader and former minister Ram Bilas Sharma, was addressing a poll meeting at Sehlang village under Ateli Assembly constituency from where his daughter Arti Singh Rao in the fray as the BJP candidate. “This area is not new for me and my family. Two decades ago, I used to represent the Jatusana Assembly constituency. After delimitation in 2009, Gurgaon Lok Sabha constituency became my working area and my visits to this area reduced a bit, but my affection and attachment to people of this area never diminished,” said the six-time MP.
Rao said no government can be formed with the support of one community. “In my long political career, I have got the support of all communities and I hope for that in future too. Youth are participating in my and Arti’s programmes with great enthusiasm. I assure them that we will never let their respect and dignity be diminished,” he added.
Rao said this was the election to elect people’s representatives for next five years. “Now it all depends upon you whether a person from Rohtak should rule the state or a person from your area rules the state. If Arti reaches the Assembly with your support, then all of you will have a big role in the state government,” he pointed out.
