The Speaker was chief guest at a prize distribution programme at Tejli Stadium, Jagadhri, to mark the conclusion the four-day district-level ‘Football-2025’ competition. Stating that children were not only the future of their families but also of the country, Kalyan emphasised that they should play with a sporting spirit to bring glory.
District Football Association President Bharat Bhushan Juyal presided over the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker thanked the organisers and congratulated 340 players from 17 teams and 10 clubs, who participated in the competition.
“If we are interested in sports, we can avoid the evils of addiction. Addiction ruins our life, so let’s resolve to stay away from this evil and bring glory to our country through sports,” the Speaker said.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was leading the country forward through his hard work and dedication. “By 2047, our country will be a developed nation, therefore everyone’s participation in this endeavour is crucial,” Kalyan added.
Citing the examples of Swami Vivekananda and the country’s great scientist and former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, he said children must learn from their lives and move forward with a scientific mindset.District Football Association president Bharat Bhushan Juyal thanked all guests who attended the function.
At the end of the ceremony, the chief guest honoured the participating teams with trophies. Tejli’s team emerged victorious in the competition.
