YAMUNANAGAR: An investiture ceremony took place at St Lawrence International School here on Friday. Dr MK Sehgal, chairman of the school, congratulated the newly elected council and said, "To help students feel a sense of responsibility and keep up with the tradition of the institution, 64 outstanding students were invested with duties of the office after qualifying an aptitude test. It was followed by an interview." He said head boy Vidhan Dabolia and head girl Bableen took the oath that they would discharge their duties with sincerity and fulfil organisational expectations.

VC raises population concerns 

Hisar: The Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), organised a workshop on World Population and Environment recently. In his address, the Vice Chancellor Tankeshwar Kumar highlighted the issues relating to population in India by comparing it with the population of the developed countries.   

Education policy discussed

Mahendragarh: The Central University of Haryana (CUH) here organised a workshop on 'Integrated approach to education: Issues and concerns related to Draft National Education Policy, 2019' to discuss features of the policy. Prof RC Kuhad, Vice Chancellor, said Prof Sangeeta, Dean, faculty of education, Kurukshetra University, was the keynote speaker, who underlined the significance of massive collaboration across all levels of education and pedagogy for inclusive approach to education. 

Last date for applications extended

Hisar: The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) has extended the last date for submitting applications for the teaching and non-teaching posts till August 5. Earlier, the last date was July 28. Dr Jagbir Singh, chairman of the BSEH, said the applicants needed to submit applications online on the web portal of the board. In case of mistake and wrong entries in submission of the application, the board will give a chance to make changes in application forms on August 6 and 7.
